Dear Dave:
Have you ever heard of the Amarillo Chiltepin? Is this one a newly cultivated or is it one of those rare wild plants? Where could I find out more about Chiletepins/Tepin Peppers?
-Rich
Rich:
The only yellow ("Amarillo") chiltepin I know about is the ’Brazilian Yellow Bird’s Eye’, a Capscium chinense that closely resembles the red chiltepin. It’s in my book, Peppers of the World, on p. 62. This is a wild chinense, but can also be cultivated. Seeds are available through the Yearbook at Seed Savers Exchange, www.seedsavers.org..
