Hi Dave,
I’ve been meaning to ask you this question for some time. I have lots of bottles of hot sauces that I have bought in my travels around the world, especially in the Caribbean. Some I’ve never opened, some are half full, etc. I’ve had them for years, but I’ve stopped using them because I’m worried about spoilage. I wonder, how long does hot sauce stay good for? How can you tell if it’s still good?
Thanks,
John
Hello John:
If the open sauces have been refrigerated, they are probably okay. If not, I wouldn’t use them if I were you. Because we don’t know the percentage of acidity of each sauce, it is impossible to determine their shelf life or safety.
