Q: Dear Dave,
You have given me great advice before about my jalapeno plants. They seem to be doing well inside, they are 11" tall and have begun to flower! My question is, do the pepper pods emerge from the middle of the flowers? They are white and about the size of a quarter. Thanks much!
Chris
A: Hello Chris:
Those are very large flowers. The stem of the flower becomes the stem of the pod as the pod emerges from the flower. The small part of the pod that you see first is called the "blossom end."
