Dear Dave:
When I eat almost anything containing chiles, I sweat profusely from my scalp. I will sweat so bad that sweat drips off my ears, runs down my face and will soak my shirt collar. It seems to have nothing to do with the hotness of the chili. I was watching fiery foods on the Food Network about a year ago and began sweating so bad that I had get a towel. Hell, I even get sweaty when I’m at the store looking at all the hot sauces. I like chilis and sauces, but this is getting worse and worse. I’m almost 50 and this has been going on for about 10 years. What gives?
–Gerald
Hello Gerald:
You have an advanced case of gustatory perspiration and are over-sensitive to the hot stuff.
