Q: Dear Dave,
I’m of Honduran descent and I’m trying to find a site that may contain a list of chile peppers that are native to Honduras. My grandmother recently passed away and I know she used to grow a specific pepper, what she called Mutton peppers (the way I remember them they looked more like Scotch bonnet). These peppers were quite different and she said they were real Honduran peppers. My memory fails on their appearance. I do know they were spicy and had a very pleasant aftertaste, almost sweet. Maybe I’ll have to take my research to Honduras one day. 🙂
Thanks,
Sean
A: Hello Sean:
www.chileplants.com has a variety called ’Honduras Wild’—just go to their site and do a search. I don’t know of a site that specifically lists Honduran chiles, sorry.
Best,
