Hi Dave:
Glad to find your site! Could you tell me difference between Thai chile, birds eye, African birds eye pepper, and what is the fast way to get the seeds out, thank you!
Mike
Hello Mike:
There is no such thing as a Thai chile as a variety, no matter what you hear or the seed packs you read. That’s like saying there’s a variety called “Mexican chile.” There are many, many different chiles in Thailand, from mild to wild. Bird’s eye and African bird’s eye are the same thing, a very hot, piquin-like chile grown in various African countries. See our Pepper Profile on them, here. There is no fast way to get the seeds out. The pods must be at their full ripened state, usually red. Cut the pods open and put the seeds in an envelope. Let them dry for several weeks before planting.
